The Eliopoulos's

- 'Elio' is part of our Greek
name Eliopoulos, it means 'The Sun'. Our family is from Kyparissi,
Greece (pictured). First Cousins Lefty and Gus Eliopoulos while
sitting in a pizza parlor in their native town while on vacation
they decide to go into business together and open a small pizzeria
in San
Mateo California
called Brick Fournos. After a number of years they deceide to
open something larger. Thus ELIOS FAMILY RESTAURANT was born.
Couple of decades
later they cornered the family restaurant business in San Leandro.
Gus and Lefty are very particular about the quality of food they
produce and the healthy portions are a popular draw. Although
many of the plates are American, there is a popular Greek flair
to many of the dishes. Everything is homemade, the staff members
are like family as well, many have been with us over 10 plus
years. On any given day you will most likely meet one of our
family members who run the business; Lefty, Gus, Mike (Lefty's
son), Jimmy (Gus's son) or their nephew John Polychroniou. All
who have a passion for quality and customer service.
